Ceramic coatings are liquid polymers that chemically bond with the factory paint, creating a hydrophobic layer. Unlike traditional waxes, they offer greater resistance to UV rays and chemical etching.

The Reality of Durability

Many marketing claims suggest coatings are invincible. We do not use the word permanent. The actual lifespan of any ceramic application strictly depends on:

• UK weather conditions (frequent rain and winter road salt).
• Your ongoing washing routine (harsh chemicals degrade coatings).
• The initial vehicle condition and clearcoat porosity.
• Annual mileage and storage environment (garage vs. street).
• The specific chemical product selection applied.

Preparation & Maintenance

A coating is only as good as the surface it bonds to. Intensive preparation (decontamination and polishing) is required prior to application. Post-application, specific maintenance washes using pH-neutral shampoos are vital to keep the hydrophobic properties active.
